The Bioswale,
or as we like to call it,
Heritage Creek
An undergraduate student is conducting a census of the birds that use Heritage Creek.  These are preliminary data that we will compare with future surveys when the site is fully restored.
The swale is, indeed, part of the heritage of the Dominguez Hills.  It is a remnant of the native prairie that covered this area prior to development.  We are restoring it with native plants, as well as evaluating its role as a bioswale to enhance water quality from runoff from parking lot # 7.
